While speaking at Jagran Cinema Summit, Actress said that Ali Abbas Zafar’s directed film was not offering her much and she did not want to demote her after the success of her film Tanu Weds Manu Return.
However, she has praised the film saying that though it was a great character film for a girl to play but I did not see any thing for me in that, so I turned down the director’s offer.
She also said that she had seen nothing in the film while she was offered a role and as an actress; she had considered to accept the offer a demotion as she has a successful career in the industry.
“I will go for something which will encourage my mind; otherwise I would be just sleep walking through the films. And Sultan at that time, though it was a great film but I found nothing for myself in it.” She added.
Sultan was released during the Eid last year. The film was about a professional wrestler who has a successful career but this success creates a rift in his personal life. Anushka Sharma played female leading role opposite Salman Khan.
The film earned over 584 crore worldwide and became the seventh highest grossing of Indian film of all time.
